PINK House Vintage & Women's
Consignments

1. Consider the following:
In this small business, we are lucky to have community
members volunteer at times.    We've worked hard over the
years, so that we can continue to provide this discount store
to Canton and other local communities.  We've worked hard
compiling the "Recycling Guidelines" to make recycling
here as easy as possible.     Please consider this before
consigning.   

2.  Refer to the HOME page
of this website often for
important updates.

3. Items can take up to 2 weeks until they get onto the floor,
and longer in the busy seasons, so take this into consideration
when planning to drop off.

4. Only bring the best of what you have.

A, CLOTHING PREPARATION
      
1.      All items  on hangers, no wrinkles,        freshly laundered,
starched and ironed,
or dry-cleaned.
(Check inside clothes too.)
      NO lint, pet fur, dust, worn but not laundered,
    attic, moth, or ball smell, smoke or food smell, etc

2. TYPE 2 LISTS

                    I strongly advise to make 2 lists of  your  items
 (1 for us).  
Include:  
item name, designer, size & color.

    * It's your responsibility to bring 2 lists of what you
    want to consign.

    3.                     -No wrinkled clothing.
               Each item must be on a hanger and ironed.
             
    4.                                  HINTS                                 
  •   You can fold some items over hangers,
but they should not be wrinkled.
  •       Dry-Cleaner wire hangers are available for free.
If you want your own hangers back,
you have to switch them when you get here.
  •   If you have pets, dust, etc.,
please cover your items
(with a dry cleaner bag, for example).

B.   JEWELRY PREP.

1.        Must be freshly cleaned.
                 If not, you earn 20% (not 40%),
     of the selling price.  
    (We record on your account
    which items were not clean.)
    2.                    Separate Gold, Silver,
               semi precious, & costume in
               separate bags or boxes.

    3.      Label boxes as follows:        
            925, 14k, 10k, G.F, G.P, vintage,
     enamel, hand painted, ruby, sapphire, etc.

            4.   Please write exactly what each item is:
     Example:
    14k gold chain, 15in, 5 rubies, price paid(if known),
                place of purchase (if known), how old.

    C. PURSE AND SHOE PREP
      a.        Polished and cleaned inside and out,
     top AND bottom,
    (We mostly accept leather bags,
    but will take others in great condition.)
     b.                              We do not accept shoes
          that have toe-prints, odor,
     too much visible wear, or purses that have
     lint, etc, in pockets
    Items that are prepared well will sell for more money.
         c.     DESIGNER items should be brought in with
receipt and card#,
     in order to consign as AUTHENTIC.
    D, STYLES
    Up-to-date, new, Vintage, any decade, Recycled,
Organic, Fads, Trends, Cos t u m e s
costume pieces, Classics, Retro, Funky, and so on. We
also accept jewelry, scarves, hats, belts, boots
    gloves, household decorations, garden decorations
     small pieces of nice furniture.
    E. SEASONAL
*Items may take up to 2 weeks until they get

JAN. 1-15:
    Only a few more of your best  
          turtlenecks, cords, boots, hikers,
    comfortable walkers,
          gloves in great condition.
Vacation wear

St. Patrick's Day
Easter
Mothers Day Wear   
FEB. to MAY:
Spring wear, St. Patty's, Easter, Mother's Day Wear
    Summer clothing, Etc
       (On hangers and ironed.)

F. WHEN YOU ARRIVE
Make sure your items have a
name tag secured to your bundle.

If not, write your name and date
on one of our  3 x 5" cards just inside the door,
and attach to your bundle of clothes.

Please look around the store,
while we go through your items,
or if  there is a line.

G. Length of CONSIGNMENT PERIOD
The consignment period is
2 months long, and, at the end of that
time, you receive 40% of what the item sold for.
H.   PAYMENTS
We love it when you spend your money
in the Pink House, but if you prefer cash or check,
come in to the store, at the end of the 2 months.

I. HOW TO CHECK
ACCOUNT BALANCE
Please come in to the store to check your account.  
We cannot always answer the
large amount of phone calls we receive daily.
J. My Store Credit
You may spend your credit that you have earned in the
store at any
time - you do not have to wait for the end of the
2 months to do that.
K. ONE YEAR
You have one year to collect your money.
 L. FEES
There is a one-time $5 processing fee
to open an account, but you
don't have to give the money up front
- all accounts start at (-$5.00).  
As you sell items, your account will
go back into the positives.
If, after we have received your items,
we find at a later date that
the item is damaged in some way,
we will donate that item, but   
enter into your account on the computer
the reason for donating.  
If your items arrive wrinkled,
we offer to steam some of them out for you,
but you will receive 20%, instead of 40%,
of the selling price.
M. DONATIONS
When the 2 month period is over, all unsold merchandise
is  donated to charities.
N. PARKING
Parking is to the Right of the Pink House
(in my 5 pink spaces), or in  the back of that large lot.  
O. STATEMENT
The Pink House is not responsible for your lost items.
It is up to the consignor to make sure that their batch of
items is labeled
with their name and date, and that you have your own list
of your items at home.
The Pink House reserves the right to donate
any item at any time, (except for gowns, furs,
vintage and designer items), if we find
    that it does not meet our requirements.
    *If we have accepted an item, but find later
    that it is stained, button
     missing, etc, we will record that we have donated
    the item, and log in the reason on your file.
